2017 NPA LAGOS INTL – CONDITIONS

2017 NPA LAGOS INTERNATIONAL POLO TOURNAMENT – GENERAL TOURNAMENT PROCEDURES

  • The Tournament shall be based on HPA Rules of 20167

  • In the event that a player cannot make his game, each player must find a suitable substitute and inform the Lagos Polo Management Committee, at least 24 hours before each game.

  • Each team will provide one (1) adequate umpire pony 15 minutes before each game (in the case of Majekodunmi games 2 Umpire ponies must be provided by each team).

  • All players MUST remain in team colours, whites and boots for presentation

     

2017 NPA LAGOS INTERNATIONAL POLO TOURNAMENT GENERAL STRUCTURE & CONDITIONS – SILVER CUP

  • FIVE (5) Home teams have entered for the SILVER Cup category at the 2017 NPA Lagos International Polo Tournament

  • FIVE (5) Away teams (3 Kano and 2 Ibadan teams) have also entered for SILVER Cup category.

  • THE 10 TEAMS (5 Home & 5 Away) have been drawn into two mixed leagues. Each team will play two league matches (as determined in the draws of Thursday 9th February 2017).

  • First game of the SILVER Cup shall begin at 1:15pm, Wednesday, February 15, 2017

  • Please note that each game must be played to a result (NO DRAWS).

  • There will be a Semi Final between the two top teams in each league to be played on Saturday 18th February. The Top teams in each league will emerge from an order of merit/ranking according to 2016 HPA Rules (Points first, Goal Difference, Goals For, Goals Against).

  • The Winners of the Semi-Final games will play in the Final for the SILVER Cup on Sunday 19th February 2017.

     

2017 NPA LAGOS INTERNATIONAL POLO TOURNAMENT GENERAL STRUCTURE & CONDITIONS – LAGOS LOW CUP

  • A total of 12 Teams have entered into the Lagos LOW Cup category at the 2017 NPA Lagos International Polo Tournament

  • There are Seven (7) Home teams and five (5) visiting teams (3 Kano and 2 Ibadan Teams).

  • The 12 Teams have been drawn into four (4) leagues and each team will play TWO games (one within the league and one across leagues as determined in the draws of Thursday 9th February 2017).

  • First game of the LOW Cup shall begin at 3 pm, Tuesday, February 24th, 2017

  • Please note that each game must be played to a result with a Winner emerging (NO DRAWS).

  • The Winner of each league will play a Semi Final on Saturday 25th February 2017. The Winner in each league will emerge from an order of merit/ranking according to 2016 HPA Rules (Points first, Goal Difference, Goals For, Goals Against).

  • Semi Final 1 will be played by the Winner of League 1 VS Winner of League 2. Semi Final 2 will be played by the Winner of League 3 VS Winner of League 4.

  • The Winners of the Semi-Final games will play in the Final for the Lagos LOW Cup on Sunday 26th February 2017, 3PM.

     

2017 NPA LAGOS INTERNATIONAL POLO TOURNAMENT GENERAL STRUCTURE & CONDITIONS – OPEN CUP

  • A total of 4 Teams have entered into the OPEN Cup category at the 2017 NPA Lagos International Polo Tournament

  • There are FOUR (4) Home teams in this Cup.

  • The 4 Teams have been drawn into two leagues and each team will play TWO games (across leagues as determined in the draws of Thursday 9th February 2017).

  • First game of the OPEN Cup shall begin at 4:30pm, Thursday, February 16th, 2017

  • Please note that each game must be played to a result with a Winner emerging (NO DRAWS).

  • The Winner of each league will play a Final on Sunday 19th February 2017 at 4:30pm. The Winner in each league will emerge from an order of merit/ranking according to 2016 HPA Rules (Points first, Goal Difference, Goals For, Goals Against).

     

2017 NPA LAGOS INTERNATIONAL POLO TOURNAMENT GENERAL STRUCTURE & CONDITIONS – MAJEKODUNMI CUP

  • A total of 3 Teams have entered into the MAJEKODUNMI Cup category at the 2017 NPA Lagos International Polo Tournament

  • There are TWO (2) Home teams and ONE (1) Visiting Team in this Cup.

  • The 3 Teams will play TWO (2) Games each (Round Robin)

  • First game of the Majekodunmi Cup shall be at 4pm, Wednesday, February 22nd, 2017

  • Please note that each game must be played to a result with a Winner emerging (NO DRAWS).

  • The Winner of the Cup will emerge from an order of merit/ranking according to 2016 HPA Rules (Points first, Goal Difference, Goals For, Goals Against).
